The seventies are often referred to as “the decade that design forgot”. As a young Art School graduate with a degree in Industrial Design, the corporate world didn’t seem too enticing to me. So, like many others in my generation, I followed the path of the self-employed artisan. Fortunately for me, my father had followed a similar path, although for slightly different reasons.

As a second-generation woodworker, I adopted some of my father’s approach to the craft, but I have also developed my own style and techniques.

Some of the more interesting projects in my career have been those done for the public realm, including churches, libraries and museums. When given the opportunity, I would rather collaborate than compete
